Description

This is part of the Building Community Preparedness for Disaster Response and Recovery in Central America project, implemented by Oxfam in El Salvador with partner organizations to achieve its objectives. One partner is the Asociación Fundación para la Cooperación y el Desarrlolo Comunal de El Salvador (CORDES), and the other is Fundación Campo.

The objective of the project is to support local communities and the Community Emergency Committees (CECs) to strengthen their disaster preparedness capacities to reduce the impacts of hazards on the most vulnerable families living in the Dry Corridor of El Salvador. Through the project, families learn to take early action so they will be less affected by disasters. The project is being implemented in 30 communities with high levels of social and economic vulnerability as well as high exposure to various hazards.
