The SHIFT Asia Learning Sessions were convened as part of the second phase of the Supporting Humanitarian Initiatives for Transformation in Asia (SHIFT Asia) Project to advance collective learning on feminist, locally led humanitarian leadership.

Across the first three sessions, women humanitarian leaders, feminist networks, civil society organizations, and humanitarian allies from across Asia examined how women-led leadership is already reshaping humanitarian practice, why existing systems continue to marginalize these actors, and what systemic changes are required to sustain and scale feminist approaches. Together, the sessions positioned SHIFT Asia not solely as a capacity-building program, but as a regional platform for systemic change, grounded in lived experience, political analysis, and collective action.

This Learning Report compiles the proceedings and key insights from the first three SHIFT Learning Sessions, which explored the advancement of feminist and locally led humanitarian action in Asia. The sessions included: Session 1: Amplifying Women’s Leadership and Local Knowledge in Humanitarian Action (held on November 27, 2025); Session 2: Strengthening Collaborative Networks: Advancing Local and Feminist Leadership in Asia’s Humanitarian Systems (held on December 18, 2025); and Session 3: The FLHL Roadmap in Action: Centering Women-Led Responses and Grassroots Initiatives (held on January 29, 2026). Together, the sessions provided a platform for practitioners and partners to share experiences, reflect on progress, and identify opportunities to strengthen locally led and feminist approaches to humanitarian action.
