Asia Community Preparedness and Transformation (ACT) Program recently had its regional learning workshop hosted by Oxfam Pilipinas. The weeklong event was attended by 42 participants from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Nepal, Philippines, Asia Platform, The Global Humanitarian Team, Notre Dame University, USA, Oxfam Pilipinas and Oxfam America.
The best news? We see DRR interventions evolving beyond pilots — Self Help Groups in the Philippines, Demonstration Plots in Indonesia, Agroecology in Nepal, and Food and Fodder banks in Bangladesh. They are expanding horizontally, deeply, and in some cases, being scaled up vertically with policy support from the national government.
